Veteran film writer Salim Khan celebrates his 88th birthday today, on November 24. He initially started his career as an actor in the movie Alladin Leila in 1957, directed by Lekhraj Bhakri. After doing a few more roles, he formed a partnership with Javed Akhtar. This collaboration led to the creation of numerous iconic films.

Salim Khan is also the father of Salman Khan (one of the big three Khans of Bollywood), Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan and film producer Alvira Khan Agnihotri.
