Your store, anytime, anywhere is the Church's slogan for a new online shopping site opening Sept. 30, for members around the world. Store.lds.org contains over 21,000 items from food storage to sacred clothing that can be delivered conveniently right to a customer's home.

Known previously to many Church leaders and members as the LDS Catalog, the new online store is meant to replace it. "The Presiding bishopric has an initiative for the store to make gospel teachings, resources and services directly and globally accessible in a self-service and affordable way to help strengthen leaders and members of the Church worldwide," says Andrea Peterson, Product Manager for the LDS Online Store.

The new Online Store contains a myriad of new features not previously available on the LDS Catalog. These features include:

One of the most exciting aspects of the site is free shipping to members anywhere in the world for orders originating from the same country being shipped to. For emergencies like a funeral, expedited shipping is available in the United States only at $15 for three to five day delivery or $25 for overnight. "It's important for members to realize that they can get delivery directly to their own house now," said Sister Peterson. "I think members outside the U.S. especially need to know they can get Church materials sent directly to them instead of a local branch or distribution center."

To access the old LDS catalog site, members needed to have a separate account login specific to that site, but the new site utilizes the standard LDS account available at LDS.org. "We want members to know that the LDS Online Store is a secure and safe place to shop," said Sister Peterson. "We do not store any customer financial information for our records."

Unlike most shopping sites, the new Online Store contains a lot of helpful instructions on how to use it. "Most shopping sites assume you know some basics of online shopping," said Sister Peterson. "We realize our customers may be visiting a shopping site for the first time, and we want to educate them on how to navigate and use our site."

The new site also features a feedback forum to let customers discuss problems, questions, or concerns. When the site launches there will be live multilingual support every day but Sunday. "We think we have met the challenge given us by the Presiding bishopric," said Sister Peterson. "We have built a base that can reach the entire world."
